Monday Rematches on TNT 🏀

Plus, a surprise performer on Wednesday!

Monday Preview 🏀

The weekend slate delivered highlight-reel moments and dominant performances, setting the stage for two compelling rematches tonight on TNT. Phantom BC and Mist BC both enter as winners of their previous meetings, but neither Vinyl BC nor Rose BC is ready to let history repeat itself.

Revenge on the Menu

The last time these clubs met on January 23rd, Phantom BC controlled the game to a 78-69 victory. All five Phantom starters reached double figures, led by Aliyah Boston's 21-points, 11-rebound double-double. Kiki Iriafen provided the spark off the bench with 15 points and hit the game-winner, her second of the season.

Tonight's Storylines

Vinyl needs more than just its dynamic duo. With Hamby and Howard, Vinyl has the offensive weapons to challenge anyone. But Phantom BC will look to replicate its previous balanced approach.

Saturday saw Phantom BC go 12-of-18 from the floor and 5-of-8 from behind the arc to tally 31 points in the third quarter against the Mist, marking the highest-scoring third quarter by a single club in league history. Kelsey Plum, Aliyah Boston, and Kiki Iriafen combined for 26 points in that frame alone.

There is also history on the line tonight. There is currently a five-way tie for most game winners this season between Chelsea Gray, Paige Bueckers, Kelsey Plum, Breanna Stewart, and Brittney Sykes—all with three each. Plum has the chance to break the tie and claim sole possession of first to close out week five.

Should Phantom BC defeat Vinyl BC, the Phantom will become the second club so far to clinch a spot in the Unrivaled Playoffs Presented By Samsung Galaxy.

Mist's Dominant Display

When these teams last faced off in January, Mist BC rolled to an 89-71 victory behind a scorching performance from their backcourt duo. Allisha Gray poured in 28 points, becoming the second player in league history to reach 400 career points, while Arike Ogunbowale matched her career high with 21.

Rose’s performance was led by Shakira Austin, who dropped a then career-best 29 points, and Kahleah Copper, who added 22 to the board.

Can Rose Turn It Around?

Rose BC enters the matchup at 5-5 this season, and Mist BC comes to the table at 6-4. Tonight, Rose BC will look to turn the tide from their last meeting against Mist.

Rose BC’s recent starting trio in Shakira Austin, Chelsea Gray, and Kahleah Copper have hit their stride, with all three recording 20+ points in a game for Rose BC for the first time this season.

The five-way tie for most game winners this season applies to both games tonight, and Mist’s Breanna Stewart has the chance during tonight’s second matchup to break the tie. Also, Stewart is just 31 points away from 500 career points and is on track to join Chelsea Gray in the 500-point club. Her teammate Allisha Gray is also nearing 500 points, with 28 remaining.
