Unrivaled Weekend Preview 🏀

The action is heating up as we head into another thrilling weekend of Unrivaled basketball! With clubs jockeying for position in the standings and rematches bringing added intensity, this weekend is packed with storylines you won't want to miss. Let's break it down.

FRIDAY

Hive @ Breeze

Defensive Dominance

Get ready for a shot-blocking showcase. Four of the league's top five shot-blockers will share the floor as Cameron Brink (No. 2, Breeze), Saniya Rivers (No. 3, Hive), Sonia Citron (No. 4, Hive), and Dominique Malonga (No. 5, Breeze) battle at the rim. The Hive lead the league with 4 blocks per game as a team, while the Breeze sits right behind them at 3.8. Meanwhile, the glass will be a war zone between Malonga (league-leading 99 total rebounds) and Monique Billings (92 rebounds), who just grabbed a career-high 15 boards on Feb. 2.

Rematch Ready

This marks the first time these clubs meet again after their Jan. 9 opener, where the Breeze rolled to a 73-62 victory with all five starters in double figures. Paige Bueckers pocketed 16 points and 10 rebounds while Malonga notched a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double. Can the Breeze sweep the season series, or will the Hive get revenge?

Lunar Owls @ Laces

Star Power Sequel

These clubs already delivered fireworks in their first meeting, and round two should be just as electric. Last time out, Aaliyah Edwards exploded for a career-high 38 points, teaming up with Marina Mabrey to account for 64 of the Lunar Owls' 72 points. The Laces countered with balanced scoring as five of six players hit double figures, led by Brittney Sykes (25) and Jackie Young (22), combining for 47 points. Plus, Alyssa Thomas is riding high after posting a career-best 20 points and 11 rebounds on Feb. 2, becoming the sixth player ever to record a double-double in the first half.

Series on the Line

The Lunar Owls hold a 2-1 edge in the all-time regular season series after sweeping both inaugural season matchups, but the Laces won their most recent meeting and enter riding that momentum. Can they even things up?

SATURDAY

Rose @ Vinyl

Momentum Clash

Both clubs enter at 4-5, but they're heading in opposite directions. The Vinyl are surging with a two-game win streak, while the Rose are reeling from back-to-back losses. Their last meeting was a thriller, with the Rose escaping by just two points on Jan. 9 thanks to Chelsea Gray hitting back-to-back clutch pull-up threes. Rhyne Howard countered with a game-high 28 points, draining 6-of-11 from downtown. The Rose holds a 3-1 all-time series edge but needs to snap their skid.

Shooters' Duel

Two of the league's most lethal three-point shooters go head-to-head in Chelsea Gray and Rhyne Howard. Gray ranks No. 2 in the league, averaging 3.6 threes per game while shooting an absurd 48.5% from deep. Howard sits at No. 3, averaging 3.2 triples per contest. This is must-watch basketball for anyone who loves the long ball.

Phantom @ Mist

Top of the Table

Both clubs sit at 6-3 heading into Week 5, with the Phantom riding a two-game win streak and the Mist looking to bounce back from a tight 5-point loss to the Laces. In their first meeting this season, the Phantom escaped with a narrow 3-point victory as Kelsey Plum hit her first game-winner of the season with a smooth stepback jumper. This one could have major playoff implications as both clubs fight for position.

Breaking the Tie

The all-time regular-season series is deadlocked at 2-2, meaning this matchup will give one club the edge moving forward. Keep an eye on Allisha Gray, who's averaging 21.6 points per game (fourth in the league) and will be looking to bounce back after the Laces held her to just seven points and ended her eight-game streak of 10+ point performances.
