Opening Day DELIVERED. The Stage is Set for Season 2 👑
The stars showed out for Opening Day and we're just getting started.

Opening Day kicked off the season with four wins, four game-deciding moments, and too many stand-out plays to count.
Mist at Hive
Mist BC’s Allisha Gray opened the scoring for the 2026 campaign just one minute in, and never looked back. Mist jumped out early and closed the night with five players in double figures: Gray, Veronica Burton, Arike Ognbowale, Breanna Stewart and Alanna Smith. Gray finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals as Mist BC controlled the glass, the paint, and the pace in a wire-to-wire win over Hive BC.
Vinyl at Laces
Next up, Laces BC flipped the script in the most dramatic swing of the day. After a tight first half, Brittney Sykes completely took over the third quarter, scoring 15 straight points to erase the deficit and give the Laces their first lead since early in the opening frame. Jackie Young delivered the finishing touches, converting a four-point play and then knocking down the game-winner on the very next possession as the Laces held Vinyl BC scoreless in the final frame.
Lunar Owls at Rose
Following the Rose BC Banner Ceremony to celebrate their Season 1 Championship, Finals MVP Chelsea Gray dominated in Rose BC’s first win of the season over the Lunar Owls. Gray was perfect from deep in the second quarter and pushed her total to 35 points. The Lunar Owls made a strong third-quarter push behind career nights from Aaliyah Edwards and Marina Mabrey, but Rose BC’s closing execution sealed the opening-day win.
Phantom at Breeze
Opening Day wrapped with a debut moment for Breeze BC, powered by Paige Bueckers’ 24 points and six assists. Dominique Malonga added a 15-point, 14-rebound double-double. With the Phantom pressing late, Rickea Jackson stepped to the line and converted the free throw that clinched Breeze BC’s first-ever win, closing out a Week 1 slate that delivered statement performances from start to finish.
With every club back on the floor this weekend, Week 1 gave us an early blueprint for what wins in Unrivaled. The action continues tomorrow through Monday with all eight clubs playing twice in that span. We’ll be back tomorrow to preview all the weekend action!
Who Called Game? ✅

The first game-winner of Season 2 went to Mist captain and Unrivaled co-founder Breanna Stewart on a one-legged turnaround to seal a 72-56 win over the Hive.
In a defensive battle between the Vinyl and Laces, it was Jackie Young who had the final word with a two-point jump shot to complete the Laces' comeback win.
It was only fitting after such a standout night for Chelsea Gray that the Rose star ended the game with a three point jump shot.
And to cap off the first night of Season 2, the Breeze made a statement against the Phantom with a Rickea Jackson free throw, sealing the deal.
Unrivaled Basketball Club Player of the Week 🏀

Opening Week gave us plenty to talk about. Our nominees include the Miller Lite Player of the Game for each game as well as two other stand-out performances. Cast your vote below!
Chelsea Gray | Rose BC
Gray delivered the defining performance of Opening Day. She finished with 35 points and eight assists and ended the game with the winning shot. Elite shot-making, complete control late, and the biggest scoring performance of the opening slate.
Allisha Gray | Mist BC
Gray scored the first basket of 2026 and finished the outing with 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. She led a balanced Mist attack and anchored a wire-to-wire win.
Brittney Sykes | Laces BC
The momentum swing of the week. Sykes poured in 15 straight points in the third quarter, flipping the game entirely. She finished with a career-high 19 points and ignited the Laces’ comeback.
Dominique Malonga | Breeze BC
Malonga recorded a 15-point, 14-rebound double-double, owned the glass late, and helped Breeze protect their lead when possessions tightened. She was part of a statement-making first Unrivaled outing.
Paige Bueckers | Breeze BC
In a debut that delivered, Bueckers posted 24 points and six assists, controlled pace on both ends, and made timely defensive plays to halt Phantom runs. Her performance led Breeze BC to the first win in club history.
Aaliyah Edwards | Lunar Owls BC
During the broadcast, Napheesa Collier spoke about Aaliyah Edwards’ desire to become a better player and she showed just that during a breakout performance against the Rose. Edwards posted career highs in points and rebounds, sparked the Lunar Owls’ third-quarter surge, and was the engine of their comeback push. Even in a loss, her impact stood out.
