If you have tickets for the Lunar Owls at Rose (8 pm ET) and Phantom at Breeze (~9:15 pm ET) games, make sure to be in your seats by 7:40 pm ET, which is when the ceremony is scheduled to begin.

Game Day Preview: Opening Day Matchups

Season 2 tips off with two clubs starting fresh in very different ways. The Mist enter Opening Day with just one returning player from their Season 1 roster, signaling one of the most dramatic resets in the league. Nearly the entire group takes the floor together for the first time, setting the tone for a new era under a retooled lineup. Across the court, the Hive make their Unrivaled debut as an expansion club, with five of six players making their Unrivaled debut. This matchup offers an immediate look at how a brand-new club comes together under the league’s fast-paced format.

Vinyl bring back three players from last season’s roster: Dearica Hamby, Rae Burrell, and Rhyne Howard. Around them is an experienced Unrivaled group, but the chemistry will look different. The Laces bring back two players from last season’s Laces roster: Alyssa Thomas and Jackie Young. Like the Vinyl, the Laces have plenty of Unrivaled experience across the roster. With so much league experience but new club combinations, this one could come down to who finds rhythm fastest: spacing, quick decisions, and late-game execution.

This matchup brings together two of the league’s most accomplished clubs, even as both open the season navigating change. The Lunar Owls enter Opening Day leaning on experienced Unrivaled contributors, including Skylar Diggins, alongside new additions stepping into larger roles early. The Rose open their title defense with a roster that includes four players who won the 2025 Unrivaled Championship, setting a clear standard on Day 1.

Opening Day closes with a matchup defined by debuts and first impressions. The Breeze take the floor for the first time as an expansion club, featuring a roster heavy on youth and upside. The Phantom also introduce multiple players to Unrivaled, creating a matchup where chemistry, communication, and decision-making matter immediately.

Sephora Arena Is Officially Open

This weekend marked a major milestone for the league as Unrivaled officially opened Sephora Arena with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Unrivaled stars were in attendance for the ribbon-cutting and spoke about what the partnership with Sephora means to them.

“Being able to be yourself and express yourself… I love that we can show that we're more than just basketball players," Phantom BC’s Dana Evans said of the partnership.

Opening Day is the first chance to see Sephora Arena come to life as Season 2 begins.
