Two First-Time Matchups TONIGHT on TNT 🏀

Plus, more history in Week 3 with the second-ever dunk in Unrivaled!

Monday Preview

In their first games of the week, the Breeze and Laces showed exactly how they want to win. Paige Bueckers and Dominique Malonga can change a game in a hurry. Malonga came out cooking, notching a career high 21 points, eight rebounds, one steal and one block. She also had the first dunk of the Unrivaled season and second in Unrivaled history. And Bueckers closed with 28 points and seven assists as Breeze survived the Lunar Owls, 75-68.

As for the Laces, they controlled the glass and the paint in a 70-52 win over the Hive. Tonight, it’s Lunar Owls at Hive, followed by Laces at Breeze, marking the first-ever matchups between the 2026 expansion clubs and their opponents.

Glass and Grit
This one starts on the boards. The Lunar Owls are at their best when Aaliyah Edwards turns misses into extra possessions, and she did it again Saturday with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Marina Mabrey added 18, and Skylar Diggins delivered a season-high 17 as the Owls made a push after halftime.

For the Hive, this matchup is a chance to pair their shotmaking with more one-and-done stops. Sonia Citron led the way with 14 on Saturday while Natisha Hiedeman delivered a season-high 11 off the bench, and Kelsey Mitchell hit double figures as Hive searched for rhythm and run-starters. If Hive can turn rebounds into early offense and keep possessions clean, they’ll put real pressure on the Owls.

Tempo Test
The Breeze have the league’s toughest two-player pressure point right now. Paige Bueckers is dictating pace and closing games, and Dominique Malonga is commanding the paint. Malonga set the tone from the opening minutes in their win on Saturday.

The Laces are built to challenge that with physicality and patience. They dominated the boards Saturday and never let the Hive’s offense breathe. Naz Hillmon had 16 points, 13 rebounds and hit the game-winner. Maddy Siegrist matched Naz with a career-high 16, and Jackie Young posted 14 points and nine assists. This could turn into one of the best matchups of the season so far as the league’s first and third place teams square off.
