Unrivaled Is On: Tour Stop Edition 🏀

Here's your guide to a must-watch weekend!

Unrivaled Weekend Preview

Unrivaled has touched down in Philadelphia as Philly is Unrivaled presented by Xfinity tips off this weekend with a Friday doubleheader that brings some of the league’s biggest stars to the spotlight. On Saturday, the action shifts back to Miami with matchups you won’t want to miss! Let’s get into it.

FRIDAY

Philly Homecoming Energy
This one has playmaking written all over it. Paige Bueckers has been as steady as anyone this season at 23.9 points and 6.4 assists per game, and she’ll have help inside from Dominique Malonga (16.9 points, 10.9 rebounds) and Cameron Brink (1.6 blocks per game).

Phantom has answers everywhere, and a little Philly flavor, too. Natasha Cloud played at St. Joseph’s and is from Broomall, Pennsylvania. Cloud is one of the tone-setters in a group led by Kelsey Plum (21.1 points, 5.4 assists per game) and Aliyah Boston, who has been a constant presence at the rim with 9.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. If this turns into a late-game execution battle, both teams have closers who can command the ball.

Big Names, Big Moments
Rose’s Chelsea Gray is leading the league at 29.0 points per game and is tied for the top assist mark at 6.4. Add Philly-native Kahleah Copper (20.5 points per game) playing in her first professional game in the City of Brotherly Love, and you get a duo that can swing a game.

The Lunar Owls counter with a front-court and shot-making combo that keeps them dangerous. Marina Mabrey ranks right behind Gray at 25.4 points per game, and Aaliyah Edwards is the league’s top rebounder at 13 per game, creating extra possessions that change the math.

SATURDAY

Fast Consequences
The second-place Mist have been one of the most consistent clubs in the league, and it starts with players who can win in different ways. Allisha Gray is averaging 24.3 points per game, and Veronica Burton has been a momentum magnet, leading the league at 2.1 steals per game. When Mist is clicking, they turn stops into quick offense and make opponents defend the full clock.

Hive counters with physicality and relentlessness. Monique Billings is pulling down 9 rebounds per game, and Ezi Magbegor brings rim presence with 1 block per game. If Hive can win the glass and keep Mist out of rhythm early, they’ll have a chance to win back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Shots and Stops
This matchup is built around two different kinds of pressure. Laces can make you uncomfortable on defense with Brittney Sykes (21.0 points, 1.7 steals) and Jackie Young (16.9 points, 4.6 assists) pushing the pace and attacking the paint. They also have a fun Philly-area connection with Maddy Siegrist, a Villanova alum.

Vinyl’s counter is shot-making and clutch late-game scoring. Their one-two punch of Rhyne Howard (20.0 points per game) and Dearica Hamby (19.7 points and 7.9 rebounds) is tough to defend.

SUNDAY

Win the Margins
Aliyah Boston has been leading Phantom's defense with 9.7 rebounds per game and a league-leading 1.9 blocks per game. Add to that Natasha Cloud quietly serving as one of Phantom’s most efficient spacers at 46.9% from three, which matters against an Owls group that can punish late rotations.

For the Owls, Marina Mabrey is taking a league-high 11.0 threes per game and will keep firing until the defense breaks. Aaliyah Edwards is not just grabbing boards, she’s grabbing the right ones: 4.3 offensive rebounds per game to go with 57.1% shooting. The Owls will need to grab second-chance points and turn missed threes into extra possessions to keep this game tight through the game-winning shot.

Playmakers at Work
Breeze has real scoring balance with four double-digit scorers (Bueckers 23.9, Malonga 16.9, Rickea Jackson 14.2, and Brink 11.1 points per game). That balance matters against the Rose.

For the Rose, Chelsea Gray is pairing elite production with elite efficiency: 55.6% shooting and 94.7% at the line, plus 1.6 steals per game to spark quick swings. With Lexie Hull creating extra possessions with 1.8 steals per game, Rose is winning the turnover battle and getting to the line. If they keep that up, they can control the rhythm even when Breeze is scoring.
