The weekend slate is loaded. Plus, our Pre-Game Party presented by Miller Lite in Philly is one week away!

Unrivaled Weekend Preview

The season rolls on with a packed weekend of Unrivaled action and plenty at stake across the standings. Friday tips with Mist BC vs. Rose BC, followed by Phantom BC vs. Vinyl BC, with Aliyah Boston playing against her former club. And on Saturday, Paige Bueckers vs. Aaliyah Edwards brings UConn history into a weekend that’s already shaping the table.
FRIDAY
Shot Makers Set The Tone
This is a big one for two clubs tied for second in the standings, and it’s a matchup built around high-level shot-making. Chelsea Gray enters Week 3 leading Unrivaled at 30.6 points per game, while Allisha Gray ranks fourth at 23.0. The possession battle matters here too, because Mist has been one of the league’s best rebounding teams at 35.0 boards per game compared with Rose at 30.4, and those extra chances can swing a game quickly. If it comes down to late execution, Rose has already shown it can trust its closers, with the Point Gawd tied for the league lead in game-winners.
Another Unrivaled Reunion
Friday night keeps rolling with Aliyah Boston facing her former club. Boston spent last season with Vinyl and has been a steady force for Phantom so far, averaging 18.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Phantom’s pace and playmaking will matter as well, with Kelsey Plum driving the offense while sitting top five in both scoring and assists. Vinyl can counter with a perimeter attack that is built to flip the scoreboard in a hurry, especially when Rhyne Howard is finding rhythm from deep and Courtney Williams is organizing the offense as a top-five assist producer (5.4 APG).
SATURDAY
UConn History, New Chapter
Saturday brings the UConn storyline to the forefront as Paige Bueckers and Aaliyah Edwards meet in Unrivaled. Bueckers has been the engine for Breeze, leading the league in assists at 6.8 per game while also ranking top three in scoring at 23.4. Edwards enters the weekend leading the league with 12.2 rebounds per game, and that rebounding edge will be tested by a Breeze front line that’s been dominant on the boards.
First Place Under Pressure
Laces enter the weekend at the top of the standings (4-1) and will look to keep applying pressure on the rest of the league. The Solemates have been the league’s most productive offense at 73.8 points per game, and they’ve shown they’ve got closers, with Jackie Young and Brittney Sykes tied for the league lead in game-winners. Hive’s path is usually rooted in defensive impact, and Saniya Rivers has been a key part of that, entering Week 3 tied for the league lead in blocks at 2.0 per game.
SUNDAY
Familiar Faces, Fast Paces
Sunday starts with a matchup that features a WNBA reunion feel, with Allisha Gray lining up against Atlanta Dream teammates on Vinyl in Rhyne Howard and Brittney Griner. Mist’s identity is tied closely to disruption, and it matters here because the club leads the league in steals per game. If Mist is turning turnovers into transition chances, it can force Vinyl to chase, but Vinyl’s shot-making can erase deficits quickly when Howard, who averages 4.4 threes per game, is finding rhythm from deep.
Paint Battle
Sunday wraps up with Phantom and Rose in a matchup featuring Washington Mystics teammates Kiki Iriafen and Shakira Austin headlining the frontcourt battle and Aliyah Boston anchoring Phantom at the rim. Rose has a reliable late-game formula when Chelsea Gray is controlling possessions. Gray enters Week 3 not only leading the league in scoring, but also leading in three-pointers made per game at 5.0, while remaining one of the most trusted closers with her game-winning track record. Boston’s league-lead in blocks could be crucial if Rose starts hunting paint touches.
We’ll be back Monday to preview the final two games this week!
